The Old Town of Bremen

Historic Sights

In the historical center of the Hanseatic city of Bremen - the Old Town - you will find many of the most famous sights of Bremen. The city's landmark is located directly on the market square: the Roland. From there you can already see the Bremen City Hall and St. Peter's Cathedral. Bremen's smallest quarter, the Schnoor, is a cosy place to be. Small houses arranged like on a "string" (hence the name Schnoor) from the 15th and 16th century.

The old town of Bremen is surrounded by the ramparts. In former times these were the city fortifications, today there are beautiful green spaces. Altogether the district "Altstadt" covers an area of 1.18 km² and is home to almost 3500 inhabitants. The many shopping streets in the old town make every shopping heart beat faster and invite you to stroll. Especially popular are the Sögestraße and the Obernstraße. The Domshof-Passage is roofed and is therefore ideal for shopping even in rainy weather.
